Plaxica is a Wilton Centre tenant and operates both labs and a pilot plant in the Technical Development Area. We have a longstanding partnership with CPI – who provided us with incubation space in our early days. We now make use of CPI’s technical services and open access plant at Wilton.
Plaxica has completed the laboratory development of the majority of its key technology, and is moving into the industrialisation and development phase. We have secured funding from our investors for a demonstration plant, which has been built and successfully commissioned at Wilton Centre in 2012. A number of important relationships are being built with potential licensees of our technology.
The facilities of Wilton Centre and CPI, together with the skills and resources available on Teesside, have enabled us to accelerate our business development. Specifically, we have been able to concentrate our people and capital on technology development, making use of existing infrastructure which would have been difficult and expensive to replicate elsewhere.
