"Learn and Live" Presentation
On October 23rd, in the Wilton Centre Lecture Theatre Steve Brody, Crew Manager of Cleveland Fire Brigade delivered a hard-hitting presentation on the consequences of irresponsible driving.
The four-yearly electrical shut down of the Wilton Centre Main Building was completed over two weekends in October. Some critical supplies were maintained via existing back up supplies and temporary arrangements in order to minimise the impact on residents. The shutdown was needed in order to carry out statutory maintenance of high voltage switchgear and the opportunity was taken to carry out essential maintenance and testing of the medium voltage distribution system. Residents are thanked for their cooperation.
The Wilton Centre management team is exploring a whole series of measures aimed at conserving energy. Activities completed or in progress include: The work on the T Block ventilation systems has been reported in previous editions of the Wilton News and the predicted savings on power and heating have now been confirmed by analysis of the recent meter readings. It is planned to proceed with similar modification work on other laboratory blocks.
